Currently, approximately 40,000 out of over 470,000 total applications have been rejected by the ministry PerantiSiswa KKOMM TechNave

mme rejected can appeal the decision in writing or meet directly with local leaders. Its caretaker minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that the students can meet with local leaders for endorsement because there are several factors that K-KOMM can consider if they do not qualify.

As reported by Bernama, Annuar revealed that approximately 40,000 applications had been rejected under the programme out of over 470,000 total applications. Previously, the minister had announced that an additional 50,000 units of PerantiSiswa tablets had been ordered so that more students could benefit from the programme.

On the appeal process, he elaborated that factors that the ministry will consider include if the student comes from a household with an income over RM5,000 a month but have many siblings. Moreover, those that are active in co-curriculum activities in school will also be considered when going through the appeals.

Besides that, the caretaker minister also urged school principals to submit a written appeal if any of their students fail in their application. This is because school principals are directly involved with the students at school, hence just like local leaders, they would know the applicant’s family background.
