NSTnation: There is no truth that Pas would be included in PakatanHarapan (PH), said PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Quashing rumours that the pact was looking into bringing the Islamic party into the ruling government’s fold, he said PH is a political coalition built upon trust and respect. He said even if there was an idea mooted to bring in Pas or any movement, it must be done based on a consensus principle, not based on the majority.
“As of now this remain as a political rumour as I did not see any reason for it to be done,” he said when met at the soft launch for a Distribution Centre for Food Bank Malaysia at Bukit Angkat, here, today. Responding to PH chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s remarks that PH could end being a one-term government if it does not make changes and stop infighting within its component members Saifuddin said PH is an intact, functioning and workable government.
“Our focus is on executing our promises and commitment for the rakyat, ultimately the rakyat is the best judge.”Meanwhile, touching on the 14 day notice to PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin to respond to disciplinary charges, Saifuddin said the Housing and Local Government Minister has sufficient time to do so.“It was already in line with party’s constitution and also in accordance to the due process in handling disciplinary matters,” he said.
It was reported that the show-cause letter was delivered to Zuraida on Jan 17, this year for disciplinary misconduct.
