During the last trial, the jury deliberated for about 19 hours but were unable to agree on a punishment — indecisiveness that prompted a mistrial and a third attempt to decide Temple’s fate.

David Temple was convicted for the second time for the murder of his pregnant wife, Belinda Lucas Temple, in Aug. 2019, but the sentencing was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.He wants Temple to meet his grandchildren — one of whom is expected to be born next month, the son said.
She picked apart Temple’s purported alibi that someone broke into the family’s Katy home and killed his wife while the defendant ran errands with his son. She quickly paced around the courtroom — a similar display to what she did during the 2019 closing arguments — to show how quickly one could knock a TV to the ground and stage a home to look like a robber broke in and ransacked the place.
