NETIZENS have begun to dub June 27 as “break-up day”. Just hours after South Korean celebrity couple Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo announced their divorce, China’s Fan Bingbing said she had broken up with her fiance Li Chen, reports Sin Chew Daily.
Bingbing, who is China’s highest-paid actress, released a statement on Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter, announcing the break-up.“Thank you for everything – the support and love – along the way,” she wrote.
Bingbing and Li fell in love during the filming of the much loved historical drama The Empress of China. However, the wedding was postponed due to Bingbing’s involvement in a tax-evasion scandal last year.Bingbing was slapped with a 880mil yuan fine for tax evasion, which was described as one of China’s biggest tax evasion penalties in history.> On Tuesday, police in China’s Jiangsu province arrested Chen Yong, 55, who confessed to strangling his wife and cutting up the corpse, reported China Press.
