Danny Trejo shares fanmade AI art of himself as John Wick and pitches a Mexican version of the iconic action hero played by Keanu Reeves.
John Wick star Keanu Reeves has competition thanks to new art imagining Danny Trejo in the title role. Reeves has been playing the role since 2014's John Wick, which follows the ex-assassin seeking revenge after his dog is killed and his car is stolen, leading the viewer into a baroque and colorful world of assassins and gun-toting action mayhem. The franchise recently passed $1 billion at the box office thanks to the massive hit John Wick: Chapter 4, which premiered in theaters this March.
The images, which have been floating around the internet since earlier this spring, were created by a fan using the generative AI program Midjourney. In his joking pitch for a new version of the series titled Juan Wick, Trejo suggests the tagline "They just messed with the wrong Mexican."
