According to new campaign finance reports, Shapiro has outspending his Republican rival by a 6:1 ratio through the fall.
If Attorney General Josh Shapiro doesn’t win the governor’s race, it won’t because of money problems.
Never able to lock down support from major outside political groups like the Republican Governors Association, he raised just under $2 million through the period, for a campaign-long total of about $5.9 million. Shapiro has been on the air statewide literally since the May primary campaign, during which he was unopposed, ended. Mastriano didn’t get on the air with anything until October, and even then he appears to have struggled to push out ads statewide.
It showed that the Democrat has more than three times as many in-state donors as Mastriano and has raised almost eight times as much money from them.
