Josh Donaldson might not be ready to return to the Yankees just yet.
The veteran third baseman started a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Somerset, which could have potentially lasted just one game if everything went smoothly.
Instead, Donaldson still felt tightness in his hamstring early in the game, according to manager Aaron Boone, while going 1-for-3 with a single.in The Bronx. “I don’t think anything from necessarily a setback — he didn’t pull it or anything or have to come out of the game [earlier than planned] — but I don’t think it was all the way where it needs to be. So we’ll see where we’re at with it [Wednesday].
