Both IndyCar drivers walk away from boo boos that bring more smiles than bandages.
Both Josef Newgarden and Stefan Wilson were injured in Thursday’s first of a two-day test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Wait, let’s clarify that: both Newgarden and Wilson were “injured” , leaving both in a little bit of pain and a lot of hilarity when they tried to explain their maladies. First was Wilson, who did 140 laps of testing on Thursday, the equivalent of roughly 350 miles around the 3.5-mile IMS oval . But Wilson emerged from his race car at the end of the day with a painful issue.Stefen Wilson was among IndyCar drivers testing at IMS this week.“I've actually got a bruise on my little pinky toe just off the throttle pedal,” said Wilson, who added he “focused on being even fitter coming into this month.
“My index nail is very sore, just on the tip of my nail. Got to work on that,” the two-time IndyCar champ chuckled. Hey, it could have been worse. We could have had a third driver who suffered a painful blister on their ring finger.
