PETALING JAYA: Independent shuttler Soong Joo Ven wants to make up for lost time when he returns to the court following an eight-month hiatus.
The 26-year-old will compete in three back-to-back events in Europe – the Irish Open , Scottish Open and the Welsh International .
Joo Ven, badly affected by the lack of playing opportunities in the past 20 months due to Covid-19, saw his world ranking drop 15 rungs to No. 75. “I have to get settled in fast once I get there because the competition is going to be stiff. I will be up against opponents who have been competing regularly, I’ve got to be on top of my game right from the early rounds.”
