The fallout from the stumping of Jonny Bairstow during the second Ashes Test at Lord’s has continued with footage emerging of the Englishman involved in his own controversial stumping of a batter. 7NEWS
“I saw him lift his foot and I took the bails off, luckily it was one of those that kind of went for us there,” Bairstow explained.
Bairstow went on to say the stumping was “within the rules”, ironically the same argument that Australia have been making about the dismissal of Bairstow at Lords during the second Ashes Test.“It’s within the rules of the game and that’s how it is,” Bairstow said.“I think these blokes have completely forgot their past. It’s unreal,” one cricket fan wrote Twitter.
And another said: “So good seeing so many examples of the English doing things outside the ‘spirit of the game’ and not having an issue with it until it impacts them and they’re losing!”
