Jones names new Wallabies captain as star earns big re-call
La Rochelle lock Will Skelton will captain Australia for the first time in this weekend’s Rugby World Cup warm-up with hosts France, Rugby Australia announced on Friday.
The 31-year-old will partner fellow France-based second-row, Toulouse’s Richie Arnold, for Sunday’s game at the Stade de France. Suliasi Vunivalu has another chance to push for a regular role in the Wallabies side after being named in Australia’s team. “We’ve had an impressive preparation for the Rugby World Cup this week,” Wallabies coach Eddie Jones said.
