El astro serbio y los Nuggets de Denver protagonizaron el martes una ceremonia festiva para celebrar el primer título de la NBA en la historia de la franquicia, frente a un graderío repleto. Denver comenzó la temporada enfrentando a LeBron James y a los Lakers de Los Ángeles y ostentando un título inédito: campeón defensor.
“El año pasado fue asombroso”, dijo a los aficionados Michael Malone, entrenador de los Nuggets. “Tenemos un anillo. ¿Quién quiere otro? Vamos por él”. Asistió a la ceremonia el comisionado de la NBA Adam Silver. También estuvieron presentes Stan Kroenke, dueño de los Nuggets, y Josh Kroenke, presidente del equipo. Josh Kroenke llevó el Trofeo Larry O'Brien hacia la mitad de la cancha para dar inicio a la fiesta.
