Some Joker 2 set photos show protests in Gotham City, debunking one of the most popular theories about the ending of the first movie.
Although plot details of Joker: Folie à Deux are still a mystery, photos and videos from the set have made some big reveals about the story and its characters, and they also destroy the biggest theory about the ending of Joker.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Arthur’s actions – from the accidental murder of two businessmen from Wayne Investments to the planned murder of Murray Franklin – unleashed a violent countercultural revolution against the rich in Gotham, leading to riots and many deaths, including those of Thomas and Martha Wayne.
However, set photos from Joker 2 show people protesting for justice for Joker and for his freedom, holding signs that read “Free Joker” and “Harvey Dent is the Clown”, though others are against Arthur’s actions.
Why It's Better That Joker 2 Debunks The Fake Ending Theory As interesting as the idea of the ending of Joker being fake is and the consequences that could have had in a sequel, it’s better that Joker 2 debunks those theories so Arthur’s story can properly move forward. Revealing that the riots and more were also in Arthur’s head wouldn’t allow the development of the character in a sequel and, ultimately, the sequel wouldn’t really be possible if the fake ending theory was correct.
