A joint Malaysia-Philippines sea rescue operation off Sabah saved the lives of 27 Filipinos.
The Naval Forces Western Mindanao reported that the incident happened on Nov 30 involving a motor launch that encountered engine problem while on its way to Turtle Islands municipality from Bongao, the capital municipality of Tawi-Tawi.The report said Philippine and Malaysian navies rescued more than two dozen Filipino passengers and crewmen of a motor launch off Borneo after being adrift for four days.
