The upcoming Johor state election following the dissolution of the state assembly will serve as a referendum on the performance of the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, according to Gerakan Reset Johor coordinator Datuk Zulkifli Bujang. He urges voters to make mature and fair choices.
JOHOR BAHRU: Pilihan Raya Negeri Johor yang bakal diadakan susulan pembubaran Dewan Undangan Negeri semalam bakal menjadi satu referendum rakyat terhadap prestasi pentadbiran kerajaan Barisan Nasional di negeri ini.
Penyelaras Gerakan Reset Johor, Datuk Zulkifli Bujang berkata, proses demokrasi berkenaan bakal menjadi medan terbaik menguji keberkesanan manifesto dan janji ditawarkan sepanjang empat tahun pentadbiran Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. Katanya, keputusan membubarkan DUN bagi memulangkan kembali mandat kepada rakyat adalah langkah tepat.
“Selepas empat tahun mentadbir, tempoh ini lebih daripada mencukupi untuk rakyat melihat, merasai dan menilai sendiri prestasi serta pencapaian yang dibawa kerajaan negeri. “PRN yang bakal berlangsung bukan sekadar satu proses demokrasi rutin, tetapi merupakan referendum rakyat terhadap prestasi pentadbiran sedia ada,” katanya dalam kenyataan, di sini hari ini. Sehubungan itu, Zulkifli berharap rakyat negeri ini akan memanfaatkan peluang tersebut dengan membuat pilihan secara matang, bijaksana dan adil demi masa depan negeri Johor.
“Rakyat Johor kini berhak mempersoal sama ada keadaan ekonomi dan kos sara hidup hari ini benar-benar membela nasib majoriti masyarakat, selain menilai sejauh mana janji pembangunan dan kebajikan sebelum ini diterjemah kepada manfaat peringkat akar umbi. “Gunakan hak dan peluang ini untuk memilih kepimpinan yang benar-benar telus, berintegriti dan mampu membawa perubahan realistik, bukan sekadar retorik politik,” katanya.
Pada masa sama, beliau memberitahu Gerakan Reset Johor bersedia untuk sama-sama terlibat dalam PRN ini bagi memberikan lebih banyak pilihan kepada pengundi untuk menentukan kerajaan negeri akan datang.
