Johor seeking Putrajaya's help to set up China visa processing centre

KULAI: Johor is hoping to open a China visa processing centre in the state to ease travellers' application process, says state tourism, environment, heritage and culture committee chairman K Raven Kumar.

He said the state government has expressed its interest in setting up the centre to the Federal Government.

"We are talking to the Chinese Embassy a visa processing centre here to make it easy for people to travel between Johor and China. "We have made the request to the Federal level as it is not under our purview," he said after welcoming some 100 travellers from Guangzhou, China at Senai International Airport here on Wednesday .

He added that there are currently three flights between Guangzhou and Johor every week and the frequency may be increased."We are also looking into flights from other parts of China such as Beijing," he added." expected to begin in about two to three months.Article type: free
