The current remand period of the Malaysian male suspect ends on July 29.
Five suspects were arrested by the police over the alleged abduction of a girl. Of these, four have been released on bail.
Johor police chief M. Kumar said on July 29 that the police will apply for the extension, from July 30 to Aug 5, for the Malaysian male suspect.The police chief said the move is to enable the authorities to continue with their probe. The girl was reported lost by her parents on July 20 in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, after her mother lost sight of her while manning a stall at the Bon Odori Festival in Eco Galleria.
