JOHOR BARU: A market research will be conducted by the Johor government on 30 cooperatives that have closed down during the Covid-19 pandemic, this year.
Johor youth, sports, entrepreneurs' development, cooperatives and human resources committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah said the investigation would help shed light on some of the approaches that the government could improve in helping businesses in their recovery period.
“The market research will detail the reasons why they closed down, their management practices, and the value of their business and its impact on the local economy. He added that the state government was also in the final phase of preparing a one-off financial assistance that would be given to the SMEs in the state in line with the country’s move towards Covid-19 endemicity.
