SIMPANG RENGGAM: The Johor government will be working together with the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) to reduce the number of drug hotspots in the state, says Machap assemblyman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Johor Mentri Besar also said that currently, there were 17 drug hotspots in the state with 13,261 drug addicts recorded this year.

"At the same time, we should also work together with AADK to reduce the number of addicts from 13,261 to at least 10,000 addicts next year," he said. The responsibility of reducing the number of addicts should not be borne by AADK alone, but by all members of the public, government agencies, private sectors, and NGOs, he said.

"As for our youngsters, please do not even think of trying to take drugs, not even the smallest amount, because once you have become an addict, there is no cure," he added.
