JOHOR BARU: The total number of flood victims in the state has dropped to 432 people from 100 families at 4pm on Sunday (Dec 22) compared to 488 people from 111 families at 8am the same day.
Johor Local Government, Urban Wellbeing and Environment Committee chairman Tan Chen Choon in a statement here said that the victims are placed at nine temporary relief centres at Segamat.
“So far only Segamat districts are still affected by floods with 432 victims, while the 37 victims in Batu Pahat have been allowed to go home this morning since the situation has improved,” he said. The nine centres are at Balairaya Gemereh III and IV, Kompleks Penghulu Pogoh, SK Kampung Simpang Loi, Dewan Kampung Tandong, Sekolah Agama Kuala Paya, Balairaya Kampung Sanglang, Sekolah Agama Buloh Kasap and Balairaya Kampung Bukit Tunggal.
