JOHOR BARU: Police have dismissed social media claims that a 10-month-old baby boy was abused by his babysitter.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the baby’s 27-year-old father sent the infant to the babysitter’s house in Taman Kota Masai, Pasir Gudang around 9am on Feb 23.

“When the mother, also 27, arrived to pick up the baby, she noticed that her son’s forehead was swollen and there were red marks on his cheeks. “The baby’s body showed no signs that he was beaten. He was also cheerful, interactive and stable,” he said in a statement on Tuesday . He added that investigation papers had been submitted to the Johor deputy public prosecutor’s office.
