Five people and a suspect were killed in a Sydney shopping center stabbing attack on Saturday that left multiple people, including a small child, injured, police said.
BATU PAHAT: Authorities in Johor have seized 11 floor mats with images said to depict the Kaabah from a booth at a popular shopping complex on the eve of Hari Raya.
Johor Islamic affairs committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said this comes after the Johor Islamic Department received a complaint from the public."We found 11 floor mats believed to have images resembling the Kaabah and seized them," he said when contacted on Saturday . He said that the department decided not to issue any statement earlier out of respect for the Hari Raya celebration.
"We have summoned the business owner to provide an explanation and warned them to be more careful," he said."I hope people do not blow this out of proportion. I would also like to remind businesses to be more careful and ensure that this does not happen again," he said. He also urged the public to lodge a complaint with the state Islamic department or relevant authorities if they come across such issues instead of posting it on social media.Level 2 heatwave warning issued for Kedah's Pokok Sena, says MetMalaysiaPM Anwar extends Tamil New Year, Vaisakhi, Vishu greetings
