That’s when, just hours before New Hampshire’s filing deadline closed, an earnest Midwestern congressman made clear he wasn’t totally free of guile and, to borrow from the famed Tammany Hall leader George Washington Plunkitt, saw his opportunities and he took ’em. Luring Biden in, at least symbolically, would of course be just deserts for the protectors of the state’s primary. But if New Hampshire’s political class is particularly sensitive at this moment, consider why.
