Playing those scenes after losing your own child must have been very difficult? It actually gets your sadness out in a very real sense because you can’t ignore what you’ve been through when you’re doing scenes like that. You know exactly how the character feels and you remember how you felt at that time. But viewers wouldn’t have realised when I was playing those scenes that I had lost my own child.
That must have been very difficult for you to lose such a close friend? That is life, we’ve lost a lot of cast members over the years. It’s just real life, people die. People think “Oh my God” when someone from TV dies but they are just like anyone else, you won’t live forever because you’re on TV.
