KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court heard today that fugitive financier Low Taek Jho told Najib Razak in 2010 that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia had agreed to provide the former prime minister with support in the form of financial donations.

Najib, who is in the witness box today, was called to answer seven criminal charges in relation to the transfer of RM42 million from SRC International to his bank accounts. When questioned by his counsel Wan Aizuddin Wan Mohamed, he said Low did not reveal the exact amount of the donation but only indicated that it could be between US$100 million and US$200 million.

He said during the Arab uprising in Egypt, Low had also arranged for Malaysian students to return home without a visa via Jeddah.“I believe Riza met Low through his brother, Tiek Sin,” he added.
