Jewish groups have slammed a Sydney council for deciding to fly the Palestinian flag, less than three weeks after Hamas terrorists launched a bloody assault on Israel.

The Palestinian terrorist group launched a surprise attack on Israeli civilians on October 7, killing more Jews than on any day since the Holocaust and taking more than 200 hostages back into Gaza. The attacks have plunged the region into chaos as Israel prepares to launch a ground invasion of Gaza to “crush” Hamas.

Sydney's Canterbury-Bankstown Council has voted unanimously to fly the Palestinian flag"until a cease fire is declared". Picture: The Daily Telegraph “Those who celebrate the burning alive of babies, rape of young girls and murder of Holocaust survivors don't belong here,” he told SkyNews.com.au. Labor Councillor Karl Saleh tabled the motion on Tuesday evening as a “mark of respect” and to “convey the condolences” to the more than 5,000 Palestinians killed in the conflict.

“Of course we have no place for anti-Semitism or Islamophobia in our city but let’s not pretend that the Palestinians have only been suffering since the seventh of October this year.”
