Jet Blue announces a new international service to London

Share to twitterMontego Bay, Jamaica - January 21 2017: JetBlue aircraft arriving at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica., New York-based boutique air carrier JetBlue is finally announcing international service between the United States and Europe.

Service on the carrier will initially be from New York City and Boston to London, England and operated on the airline's fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft. It will take until 2021 until the routes are fully operational. Speculation over the announcement had been rampant for weeks after in early March JetBlue sent an invitation for an all-hands meeting scheduled for April 10th. As a backdrop on the invitation, JetBlue chose a curious design – oneJetBlue's expansion into international markets is a major milestone for the carrier that until now has only operated flights throughout North America.

JetBlue has 85 A321neos, a long-range version of the A321, on order with the first deliveries slated for later this year. The A321neo will also put the airline in range of Paris and Amsterdam, two other major hubs continental Europe, but JetBlue has been tight lipped on plans beyond London.
