KOTA KINABALU: For many Sabah ans, the iconic Jesselton Hotel is more than a landmark, it’s a cherished part of their personal history.

"Back then, as students with limited pocket money, we would treat ourselves to chicken rice and ice cream here. These were among the first such offerings in town, and we treasured the experience,” she said beaming. The hotel’s British-style architecture, with its distinct floors, evokes nostalgia for Liew and many others.

“Listening to how the hotel owner Wong Kah shared how his late father, Datuk Wong Tze Fatt, built this hotel and witnessing its evolution is truly moving,” Liew said.
