berlin Seorang diplomat Jerman dikenalpasti sebagai antara mangsa yang terkorban dalam kejadian letupan di Beirut.
Menteri Luar Jerman, Heiko Maas dalam kenyataan berkata, kakitangan di kementerian berkenaan bersedih dengan kehilangan rakan sekerja mereka.
"Kakitangan wanita itu meninggal dunia ketika berada di rumahnya yang terletak di ibu negara Lubnan," katanya.Jumlah kematian masih kekal pada angka 137 namun puluhan lagi masih hilang dan 5,000 cedera."Bencana itu mungkin menyebabkan Beirut runtuh, tetapi persahabatan kita dengan Lebanon tidak goyah," katanya dalam akhbar tempatan.
Kerajaan Jerman dilaporkan menghantar sepasukan 47 individu dari agensi perlindungan awam ke Beirut dan pasukan tentera Jerman turut menawarkan bantuan kenderaan perubatan di lokasi kejadian.
