Following a few updates from the actor himself, an uplifting Jeremy Renner recovery update has been shared by Mayor of Kingstown co-creator Hugh Dillon. With two Oscar nominees under his belt for The Hurt Locker and The Town and over a decade of playing Hawkeye within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Renner is a well-regarded actor who became the subject of numerous headlines on New Year's Day when his snowplow ran over his legs, resulting in his having to be airlifted to a hospital.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY While speaking with ComicBook.com to discuss season 2 of the Paramount+ crime drama, Mayor of Kingstown's Hugh Dillon opened up about Jeremy Renner's snowplow accident. The co-creator recalled the "relief" he felt when he heard that Renner was recovering in the ICU and detailed a video the actor sent him confirming his progress, which he described as "so funny and profane.

It was the biggest relief it was such a rollercoaster because when I got the news I wanted to fly out and find him and see him. Then he sent me a video the next day, the biggest relief in my life, because it was so funny and profane, and I was just like, okay, he's gonna come back. He's just so funny. He's like a brother to me. It's like, you know, we've worked on this show for two years. This is my show I created with Taylor Sheridan, and he's [Renner] just unstoppable.

In the week since his first statement, Renner has shared videos of his recovery in the hospital, including a visit from his sister and mom for an impromptu spa day and celebrating his birthday with the staff of the hospital he's recovering in. Given the severity of his injuries, no timeline has been shared for when the Hawkeye star will be fully recovered and released from the hospital. There has also been no further updates from Renner or his family from the hospital.
