Jeremy Renner reacts with an MCU reference to Chris Evans' selfie from his new film Ghosted. As part of the original Avengers roster as Clint Barton and Steve Rogers, the pair appeared in several Marvel Studios films until Avengers: Endgame, where Evans wrapped up his stint in the franchise. But they've remained friends since then, as evidenced by their fun back-and-forth on social media.
After the Infinity Saga, three of the MCU's founding heroes have officially retired from their superhero gigs. Both Iron Man and Black Widow died to defeat Thanos . Rogers's fate, however, remains bleak. He went back to the '40s to live a life with Peggy Carter , but his current status in the timeline is uncertain. Meanwhile, Renner's Hawkeye is among the other half who are still active in the universe, alongside Thor and Hulk .
As for the possibility of Evans reprising his role in the MCU? It's difficult to tell at this point. The fact that his current status remains bleak allows Marvel Studios to bring him back anytime easily; in fact, there had been rumors that he's gearing to return to the franchise, alth0ugh most of them were already debunked.
