Putrajaya Perarakan jenazah Pengasas Kumpulan IOI, Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng hari ini meninggalkan kediaman keluarganya menuju ke tempat persemadian.

Perarakan dari kediaman keluarga mendiang di Diamond Hill, IOI Resort City 11 pagi tadi dihadiri ribuan orang termasuk saudara-mara dan kawan rapat serta kakitangan Kumpulan IOI.

Kakitangan daripada IOI Resort City berbaris di tepi jalan untuk melihat jenazah mendiang Lee meninggalkan kediamannya ke Taman Memorial Nilai. Perarakan itu kemudian melalui sebahagian kawasan di Puchong dan difahamkan melalui Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Shin Cheng bagi menandakan legasi Lee yang tidak putus-putus menyumbang dalam pendidikan Cina.

Mendiang Lee yang juga terkenal dengan sumbangannya dalam industri kelapa sawit Malaysia dan seorang dermawan, meninggal dunia 8.30 malam Sabtu lalu pada usia 80 tahun selepas sekian lama uzur.Anak sulungnya, Datuk Lee Yeow Chor adalah Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif IOI Corporation Bhd dan Pengerusi Majlis Minyak Sawit Malaysia manakala seorang lagi anaknya, Lee Yeow Seng dan anak perempuannya Lee Yoke Har masing-masing Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif dan Pengarah Eksekutif IOI Properties Group Bhd.

Isteri Yeow Seng adalah Menteri Tenaga, Sains, Teknologi, Alam Sekitar dan Perubahan Iklim, Yeo Bee Yin.
