PETALING JAYA: Jeli MP Zahari Kechik has become the fourth parliamentarian from Bersatu to back the current government.
In a statement today, Zahari said that he decided to support Anwar to ensure the continued development of his area and the welfare of his constituents.
“I am aware that the people’s welfare must be prioritised, and development must continue without compromise. In these challenging times, as an MP, I must provide the best service for the people in the Jeli parliamentary constituency.He also declared his support for any policies and initiatives that the government undertakes to restore the country’s economy and safeguard the welfare and interests of the public.
Yesterday, Gua Musang MP Azizi Abu Naim said he decided to back the current administration for the sake of his constituents.Two other Bersatu MPs, Labuan MP Suhaili Abdul Rahman and Kuala Kangsar MP Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid have also backed Anwar’s administration on similar grounds.In both instances, the party’s disciplinary board had ruled that the duo breached Bersatu’s constitution.
