PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed has been appointed as the chairman of the government’s Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju) for two years.
The appointment of the Jeli MP to the post was agreed by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said Economics Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.“In line with the role of Teraju as the leading agency to guide, drive and coordinate bumiputra participation in the nation’s economy, I am confident that he will be able to lift the bumiputra economic agenda in line with the Shared Prosperity Vision of 2030.
“With this new leadership, I am confident that the continued efforts by Teraju will enhance bumiputra competitiveness while strengthening the position of bumiputra in the national economy,” Azmin said yesterday. Mustapa served as the International Trade and Industry Minister , the Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry , the Minister of Higher Education , the Minister in the Prime Ministers Department , the Finance Minister II and as the Minister of Entrepreneur Development. — Bernama
