Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok to South Korea crashed yesterday, killing all passengers except two crew members. The cause of the crash is being investigated, with bird strike and bad weather being considered as possible factors.

The Jeju Air Flight from Bangkok that crashed at the Muan International Airport yesterday (December 29) carried a total of 181 passengers, including crew members. Sadly, the tragedy took the lives of all the passengers, with only 2 of the crew surviving. Some of the deceased could only be identified with fingerprints.

One of the survivors, Lee, a flight attendant, was sent to the Mokpo Hospital for treatment, and the doctor revealed that Lee suffered fractures on the left shoulder and a head injury but was conscious and could move. Unfortunately, Lee could not recall what happened and why she was there. In a report by 8TV News, Lee continuously asked the doctor about where she was and what happened before. However, she recalled that she had fastened her seat belt before landing and thought the plane had landed, but she did not remember what happened after. What happened to Jeju Air Flight 7C2216? Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 took off from Bangkok and landed at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province in South Korea at 8:07 AM Malaysian time on December 29. In a report by BBC, the plane was suspected to have hit a flock of birds, causing the landing gear to malfunction and unable to land at the airport normally. The plane deviated from the runway and hit a wall, causing the fuselage to break and catch fire. Aviation experts, on the other hand, are questioning if the factors, including the bad weather, could cause such a deadly crash, according to Al Jazeera. In a statement by Jeju Air, the airline company apologised for the incident and said they aimed to devote every effort to resolve the situation promptly and thoroughly. The South Korean government announced a national mourning period for the air crash, which will last for seven days until January 4.
