PETALING JAYA: Malaysian football is on the international news for the wrong reasons.
JOHOR BARU: The Johor Darul Ta’zim will continue to focus on winning their game in the coming Charity Shield match against Selangor at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Friday despite the recent anonymous attack on midfielder Safiq Rahim.
"Lets leave this matter to the authorities; this is something that we did not ask for but it has happened, so the best thing to do is to move on and to continue focusing on winning the coming game," he said. He added that the attack was an isolated incident unrelated to cases involving football players in other states.
He added that police would also take extra precautions for the Charity Shield, with more than 1,500 officers and policemen deployed during the game to ensure safety and traffic flow.
