Filipino water beast Jasmine Mojdeh qualified for the 21st World Swimming Championships in Doha, Qatar next year.
This, after Mojdeh set a new Philippine junior national record time of 2:15.86 in the 9th Junior Worlds women's 200m butterfly in Netanya, Israel on Tuesday, September 5.In the process, Mojdeh beat the qualifying time - B of 2:17.63.'I am so happy breaking a PH record and lowering my time. I have been manifesting to get this time for so long. I got inspired by my Bellevue teammate, Clare Watson who swims for Canada.
'I also put into mind what coach Sherwyn told me when I was training in Clark upon my arrival from America. He told me to extend my stroke when I feel like I am dying so that my head won't go up that will create a drag and slow me down. So I did and it worked,' she added.Mojdeh's campaign in the tournament isn't over yet, though.At press time, Mojdeh was competing in the heats of 100m breaststroke and 4x100 mixed freestyle relay on Wednesday.
