The Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, -1.47% of Chinese companies weakened 1.5% to 2,939.29, and Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index STI, -0.76% declined 0.6% to 3,057.90. Shares of pharmaceuticals firm Daiichi Sankyo 4568, +2.93% and pharmaceuticals company Astellas Pharma 4503, +2.74% rose 2.9% and 2.7%, respectively.
