BUCHA: Japan’s prime minister Fumio Kishida today visited Bucha, a town near Kyiv where Russian forces were accused of committing widespread atrocities, in a trip hailed as “historic” by Ukraine.
Russian troops were accused of massacring civilians in the capital region suburb of Bucha, which they occupied for several weeks in early 2022.Ukrainian officials praised Kishida’s visit. “We are grateful to Japan for its strong support and contribution to our future victory,” she said, posting photos of Kishida on a train platform in Kyiv.
