TOKYO: A British man who was onboard a coronavirus-stricken cruise ship quarantined near Tokyo has died, Japan's health ministry said on Friday (Feb 28). The ministry confirmed the man's nationality and death on Friday without giving any identifying details.

The ministry confirmed the man's nationality and death on Friday without giving any identifying details. Another five Japanese nationals on the vessel have died and more than 700 others tested positive for the disease, according to Kyodo, the Japanese news agency. The UK was set to organise return flights for its citizens aboard the Diamond Princess, the country’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement around ten days ago.
