Jabatan itu berkata kes jangkitan Covid-19 dalam kalangan haiwan adalah terpencil kerana mereka tidak dijangkiti secara semulajadi. Kenyataan dikeluarkan ketika ada kebimbangan umum dalam kalangan pemilik haiwan peliharaan susulan laporan mengenai haiwan kesayangan seperti kucing dan anjing milik pesakit yang positif Covid-19 juga terkena jangkitan.
