KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Ewon Benedick has called on Malaysians in Sabah to embrace the Jalur Gemilang campaign as not a merely simple event but an avenue to show their patriotism and love for their country.
He said that, hence, the state-level Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang campaign is a significant programme held in conjunction with National Month. “Besides this, the programme is also vital towards uniting and reminding Malaysians that we must be together in protecting the country’s sovereignty,” he added.
The Penampang MP explained that, during Malaysia’s formation, outsiders from other countries did not agree with it, adding that there were still claims about Sabah being brought overseas.
