A stretch of the Jalan Gua Musang-Jeli road has been closed after a 15-meter-long land subsidence was discovered. The closure was prompted by continuous rain and safety concerns. Road users are advised to take an alternative route.
The section of the Jalan Gua Musang -Jeli road at KM 35 near Kampung Jerek, which leads to Jelawang, has been closed to all vehicles due to a 15-meter-long land subsidence that occurred last night. The closure was initiated following assessments by the Public Works Department (JKR). Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo highlighted that the subsidence was likely caused by continuous rain fall since yesterday afternoon.
Authorities have advised road users to use an alternative route via Jalan Jelawang-Sungai Sam to reach Gua Musang. Early signs of the subsidence were observed yesterday morning, but the road was kept open as it was still passable. Warning cones and landslide warning signs were placed to alert motorists
