The family of an American journalist detained over accusations he spied on Russia remain optimistic of a possible release or prisoner swap deal 100 days since being arrested.

The Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, 32, was arrested by the Federal Security Service in late March accused of trying to obtain classified information.

We know Evan is in good health from people who’ve seen him in person," Ms Strasburg said.
