starter Jacob deGrom took part in the Rangers’ workout Sunday, playing catch and going through some fielding practice. It was his first workout with club. He reported feeling fine after the workout with no issues concerning his left side. Due to some tightness in the side when he reported, deGrompitchers and catchers workouts. Sunday was a short day for all pitchers, with nobody throwing off a mound.
He is expected to “continue his throwing program” Monday, though it remains unclear if he will throw off a mound for the first time. With Monday being the first full-squad workout, about half the pitchers in camp are scheduled to throw live batting practice.
