It is believed that the formation of a regional council in the Jabodetabekpunjur area can optimize cooperation between agglomeration regions which has been hampered by differences in the interests of each region.
JAKARTA, KOMPAS - The existence of an inter-regional agglomeration agency is deemed necessary to overcome the obstacles of Jakarta's cooperation with its surrounding areas thus far. Therefore, its formation is advocated through the Draft Bill of Jakarta Special Region which is expected to become the legal umbrella after the relocation of the country's capital.
Chairman of the Special Committee for Jakarta Post-Relocation of the State Capital from the Regional House of Representatives of Jakarta, Pantas Nainggolan, in his statement on Wednesday , conveyed that the existence of the regional council is needed to solve interregional issues that intersect directly, such as traffic congestion, floods, and limited green spaces.
Next, Article 44 mentions that regional councils are formed to coordinate the implementation of national strategic spatial planning in the agglomeration region and development planning documents as stated in Article 40.Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, when responding to media questions in a press briefing session in Shanghai, China, on Tuesday , mentioned that Jakarta will be given a number of special authorities to help resolve various complex issues.
An authority is needed to oversee Jabodetabekpunjur because there is currently a legal cooperation between regions but it is hindered by conflicting interests, resulting in unsuccessful collaboration. According to Herman, the security council, with its authority, will be able to address differences in interests between regions. With that, cooperation in all dimensions will not be hindered.The Public Infrastructure and Utilities Handling Officer of Cipinang Melayu Village planted trees under the Becakayu highway in Makasar, East Jakarta, on Sunday . President Joko Widodo called on all parties to help reduce air pollution in the Jabodetabek area, which includes planting trees.
