After perhaps their worst performance of the season, midweek at Penn State, the Hoosiers turned in one of their best Saturday against Wisconsin.
Both teams came into Saturday’s game shorthanded key starters, trying to stop losing streaks. And both defended like it.
With points at a premium, possessions became precious. Jordan Geronimo’s three offensive rebounds felt like three times that many, and Indiana’s recently maligned defense never wavered in the opening 20 minutes. IU led narrowly, 21-20, at the break, but deservedly as well.Hardly at his best since stepping into the starting lineup for the injured Race Thompson, Jordan Geronimo did more than hold the line Saturday.
Like his frontcourt mate Trayce Jackson-Davis, Geronimo scored in double figures, critical on an afternoon when Indiana struggled to find its range behind the 3-point line. And Geronimo’s general toughness kept Wisconsin from getting second chances or settling into an offensive rhythm. After perhaps their worst performance of the season, midweek at Penn State, the Hoosiers turned in one of their best. It was just their fourth win in 28 games against Wisconsin.WISCONSIN :
