Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has given surprising advice to a current Kaizer Chiefs player, suggesting he join PSL rivals. Khune believes the Congolese international would be better suited at another club, citing a lack of playing time under current Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has surprisingly advised one of his old club's players to depart Soweto. The highly regarded Congolese international has struggled to impress coach Nasreddine Nabi when they needed him most. Both Chippa United and SuperSport United have shown interest in the 25-year-old, and Khune believes Saile would thrive in Gqeberha under Thabo September's leadership.
'Saile's strength lies in running at defenders, but he hasn't showcased that since coach Nasreddine Nabi took over,' Khune told SABC. 'Remember when he arrived, he used to score goals. He would take on defenders, creating opportunities from the right-hand side as a left-footed player. But I think if Chippa United eventually signs him, they will utilize him, but with Kaizer Chiefs, I doubt.' Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are facing difficulties finalizing a deal for Bafana Bafana star Oswin Appollis amidst interest from Orlando Pirates. They could be forced to wait until the offseason to bring him to Soweto. 'A January transfer leaves the club little time to find a replacement. So, there's already that. Then if it's a local team, that's another problem, you see. But it's football, anything happens, but it would be crazy money for him now.
