Our immediate priority was getting water on the primary structure the two exposures, so the two adjacent structures,” he said on scene.
That’s when Jones ran outside to make sure her neighbour Chris, an elderly man, was OK. “I didn’t know what house was burning,” she said.“I just saw the house, the roof was totally engulfed, totally engulfed. I’ve never seen anything like that, ever. It was crazy,” said Jones in an interview.Verdun says the building materials likely sped up fire growth.
“By the time our crews got here in a really rapid way, the fire was basically fully involved and about 30 feet in the air. We were able to contain the fire to the original home of origin and stop the fire from encroaching into the two exposure homes.”“The good news is the people were at home at the time, but they managed to get out, there were no injuries, everybody got away safely,” he said. She says neighbours sprayed water on surrounding residences.
