There have been protests and pledges during the UN climate summit, but real change is yet to come, Hannah Thomas-Peter writes.
Over the past week millions of people poured onto the streets demanding action on the climate crisis.And the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a report making a dire assessment of the state of our oceans and ice, and what may happen if we don't do more to limit global warming.The answer is, annoyingly, yes and no.The lion's share of progress points go to the climate strikers and their supporters.
"This is what's possible within the system" is not, to Greta Thunberg and the millions supporting her cause, an acceptable explanation.
